Scooby Boy's Story
It's time to give Scooby, the loveable Lab/Hound, the attention he deserves!
Meet Scooby! This handsome goofball is likely a hound/Lab mix, born around 7/9/2024, and he's got equal parts curiosity, charm, and cuddle power. Scooby's journey brought him to WAG after a kind person took him in but ended up with more dogs than they could manage-lucky for us, because now he's ready to find his perfect forever home.
Scooby is a total people-lover. If you've got hands, he'd like them on him-preferably petting him at all times. He's sweet, affectionate, and will happily soak up attention like it's his full-time job. He gets along well with other dogs, though he's a bit of a ladies' man and prefers female playmates over the boys. Cats? No problem. He might give them a playful chase now and then, but he's harmless-and in his foster home, he's even been caught snuggling up with his feline friend.
He's got the good-boy basics down, too:
walks nicely on a leash
crate-trained
and no destructive chewing habits. Basically, he's already ahead of the curve.
Now, Scooby does come with a little "fine print"-but don't worry, it just makes him extra special. He's looking for a home that's calm, structured, and predictable. Think less chaos, more cozy routine. Scooby is a sensitive soul, and when things get busy or unpredictable (or if his human is feeling anxious), he can get a bit overwhelmed. But in a peaceful environment with a confident, steady person, he truly shines. Give him that stability, and he'll reward you by settling in beautifully and being your loyal, easygoing companion.
He loves being part of the action-as long as it's his kind of action. Car rides? Yes, please. He'll happily hop in and may even try to invite himself along on every errand. He enjoys tagging along with his humans and just being nearby, whether that's for an adventure or a nap on the floor while you do your thing.
Scooby is still building confidence in new situations, but with calm, consistent guidance, he's making great progress-and he'll need someone willing to keep cheering him on.
When it's time to relax, Scooby is all about lap time, lounging close by, and enjoying his toys. Puzzle toys are his jam (smart boy!), and "sniff walks" are one of his favorite activities-slow strolls where he can follow his nose and take in the world at his own pace. It's basically his version of reading the morning news.
If you're someone who appreciates a loyal companion, enjoys a steady routine, and has a soft spot for a sweet, slightly sensitive pup who just wants to be your sidekick, Scooby might be your perfect match.
If you are interested in meeting Scooby and possibly adopting him, please complete an adoption application at willistonanimalgroup.org/adopt and we will contact you to set up a meet and greet!
