Meet Scooby

Meet Scooby! *Scooby is a courtesy post, meaning that we are helping network him, but his current foster will talk with potential adopters to discuss more about him, and if she thinks you may be a match for him.*

This is a special dog. Not only is he majestic in appearances, he loves swimming, fetching balls, and cuddling!
Scooby is a beautiful brindle boy, 3 years, approx 65 lbs. He is Potty trained and great in the house. Not destructive at all. Loves to chew on toys and balls. Has energy but settles in the house too with a toy after just a short bout of exercise. Great on a leash and is not reactive at all to other dogs. This boy is so special and silly and will keep you laughing all day. Heartworm negative, neutered, crate trained, and up to date on all his shots.

Unfortunately, Scooby did not get a good start in life. We believe he was not socialized at all to much of anything when he was a pup and was passed around to several well intentioned but unknowledgeable people who did not know how to handle him. Scooby needs a dog knowledgeable home. He has come a long way in many areas but he still is anxious in new settings. He would do ok with another dog with calm confidence his size. Scooby attends day care and absolutely loves it!!! At home he is energetic and LOVES life and loves his people. Loves car rides as well.

Scooby was adopted by his current owners after fostering and falling in love with him. He did great in a multiple animal household for a while but now has developed some prey instincts making him unable to stay permanently. He is attending classes and an extensive training at Transform My Dog in Dickinson to work on his anxiety and impulse control issues. We are hoping this will help his anxiety in new places and with new people. Please email Michelle at Michellelmftlpc@gmail.com if you would like more information about Scooby.
