Scooby's Story

Hi there, I’m Scooby—and yes, I’m just as lovable as my name suggests. I’m a 3-year-old, 45-pound Basenji mix with a heart full of sweetness and a goofy streak that’ll keep you smiling. I’m healthy, crate-trained, house-trained, and up to date on all my vetting: heartworm negative, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. I was saved from euthanasia at Memphis Animal Services, and now I’m ready to find my forever family.

I absolutely adore people and want to be near them as much as possible. I’m silly and strong on a leash, so I could use a little help with training—but I’m smart and eager to learn. I need a home without cats as I have a strong instinct to chase them. I’m treat-protective and need slow introductions with strangers, but I’m not aggressive and I get along fine with other dogs, especially at mealtime. I’m not a jumper, and overall, I’m a well-rounded guy with a lot of love to give.

I’m not big on toys or dog play—I’d rather explore, sniff, and do my own thing. But if you’ve got a hose, I’m in heaven. Water play is my favorite, and I’d be an amazing adventure buddy for hikes, boat rides, or backyard fun.

I am in Paris, TN but can be transported to other states for the right home. Please note, there is a transport fee. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s already come a long way and is ready to keep growing with you, I might just be your match. Fill out an application and let’s start our journey together.
