Scarlett: Young (1 year old) - active, small - medium in size. Approx 26 lbs.<br/><br/>Scarlett is described as great with children, a loving and loyal family member, good with other dogs and even livestock. She is a mix of a mighty spark and sweet gentleness. She is smart and very trainable. She was inside and outside kept in her previous home. Her family relunctantly surrendered her as the family has a special needs child and the combined necessary attention and activity was challenging to accommodate in full. They describe her as initially timid with new folks, but is soon very affectionate and loving. They also suggest she be fed separately from a new dog until she fully adjust. Good with cats!<br/><br/>We are a rural shelter with high intakes. As a result, the shelter dogs are not guaranteed safety. We do our best but, we need help.<br/><br/>ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Dogs $175- $200 Cats $90. (We are not set up for credit or debit payments.) <br/>Applications are required and can be requested by emailing fopcpky@gmail.com or the foster contact listed if in foster care. They can also be downloaded from this website: www.fopcp.org<br/><br/>Families with young children are required to have a fenced yard to prevent accidental escape of pets. <br/><br/>To make an inquiry call: 606-663-4998 or 859.948.0371. Leave a message on voicemail if you miss the staff. Your calls are VERY IMPORTANT to us! <br/>The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 9 - 3 p.m. except Thursdays (closed). Appointments are recommended. Saturday hours normally 10 - noon or by appt. <br/><br/>After hours appts can be arranged with advance notice and an approved application. We want to accommodate! <br/><br/>We are glad to answer any questions. Adoption rates include a spay or neuter, vaccines, & deworming. Surgeries are mandatory!<br/><br/>Shelter is located at 121 Echo Hollow Rd - Clay City, Ky 40312. <br/><br/>We are 45 minutes east of Lexington, Ky.
