SCARLETT's Story

Meet SCARLETT

Scarlett was on the euthanasia list and had already been granted three extensions…she had run out of time!

She arrived at the shelter after what appears to have been a very hard life. Having had multiple litters, she was emaciated, in pain, and understandably scared. The shelter can be overwhelming for any dog, but especially for one who has never known true safety or comfort.

And yet… Scarlett chose kindness.
Despite everything she has endured, she is gentle, sweet, and lovable. Her foster family describes her as a happy, affectionate girl who loves playing with the other dogs and absolutely adores her people. She is a total love bug who will roll right over for belly rubs any chance she gets. This darling girl has put on some healthy weight and the pain medications are giving her much needed relief.

Scarlett is a beautiful Cane Corso, approximately 4 years old, with so much love to give.

As part of her initial care, X-rays revealed some orthopedic abnormalities. We met with an orthopedic specialist and Scarlett will be having surgery on her back knees. She will be a bionic version of her best self!

Once Scarlett has recovered from her surgery, she will be looking for her forever home - will that be you? She would do best with a family who can offer patience, love, and a commitment to her continued care.

If you would like to be considered for SCARLETT, our adoption process and application is on our website at www.aarflove.org. Please note: We receive many wonderful applications and unfortunately cannot respond to everyone. If we believe you're a potential match, we will reach out directly. Thank you for understanding and for supporting rescue!

Part of Scarlett's adoption fee is being sponsored by our Angel Fund for the perfect applicant.

All Animal Rescue & Friends (AARF)'s Adoption Policy
All of our pets are spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies if applicable, dewormed, deflead and microchipped, PRIOR to adoption. Our cats are Felv/Fiv tested as well. Our adoption amounts: DOGS 6 months and older ~ $400 PUPPIES younger than 6 months ~ $500. CATS and KITTENS 6 months older ~ $150. KITTENS younger than 6 months ~ $200. If you find a pet you would like to meet, please visit our website at www.aarflove.org to submit an application. We do not do actual adoptions at our events; the events are for applicants to meet our adoptable animals and for us to meet potential adopters. It's important to submit an application to be considered for adoption. Our animals are also not "first come, first serve" and forever homes are always chosen based on the best fit for each animal. All of our animals are in private foster homes so attending one of our events or by meet and greets, is the best way to get to know our adoptable pets.
