Meet Scampi!<br/><br/>*Currently at Fresh Start Prison Training Program and will be available for Meet and Greets August 2nd*<br/><br/>We probably should have named this dog Tigger or Pogo because he seems to be part kangaroo. His hops when he gets excited are adorable. He is roughly 2 years old with an estimated birthdate of 05/13/2024 and he has all the grace and agility of a baby giraffe. This does not in any way dissuade him from giving zoomies his best effort. He ran straight into the fence in our play area, backed up and did it AGAIN. Not sure if that was his first acquaintance with a fence or he just thought if he got going fast enough, he could just blow right through?<br/><br/>What he lacks in experience he makes up for with exuberance, even if he's not entirely sure what he's exuberant about. We have no idea what breed he is, maybe all of them? But were guessing there's some lab and hound in there. He weighs about 60lbs and so far, he knows sit. <br/><br/>Scampi gets along very well with other dogs! <br/>Scampi would love to have kids to play with and we think he'd probably be okay with cats with a proper, slow introduction. <br/><br/>If you've always wanted to live with a kangaroo and don't have a lot of breakable things in your house or are willing to do some training, Scampi will make a wonderful companion. Bounce over to our website: www.hsmcohio.org and get ready to meet him by filling out an adoption application.<br/><br/>Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $21, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
