Sawyer (A570314) arrived as a stray who was never reclaimed, so now he is on our adoption floor fighting for his shot at a forever home. The kennel life has been stressful for him, and he is the type of dog who will bark and jump at the fence every time another dog walks by. Please do not let this scare you away. Outside of his kennel, Sawyer is as soft hearted as butter. Once he is outdoors, he completely changes. Sawyer loves being outside and he is a gentle, sweet dog who melts the moment someone shows him kindness. He can be timid at first and may bow down when getting to know you, but he truly just wants to press his head against your side and receive soft pets. Sawyer has tested very well with other dogs in playgroups and enjoys spending time with them. Due to possible food insecurity in his past, he does show signs of resource guarding. He will need to be separated or crated during feeding times, but outside of that he is a perfectly normal, good dog who just wants a chance. Sawyer enjoys treats, he is estimated to be around 7 months and weighs 40 pounds.
