Meet Savannah!<br/><br/>Savannah is a beautiful 7-year-old Husky who is looking for a very special person to help her find her confidence. Savannah is a shy and nervous girl who has had limited socialization, and because of this, she can find new people, unfamiliar environments, and new experiences overwhelming. She is a true slow-to-warm-up dog and will need an adopter who understands that building trust with her will take considerable time, patience, and consistency.<br/><br/>Savannah will require an experienced adopter who is comfortable working with an under socialized and fearful dog. She is not the right fit for someone looking for an immediately outgoing or easygoing companion. Her adopter will need to be able to read her body language, respect her boundaries, provide appropriate socialization, and give her the time she needs to become comfortable. Her progress may be gradual, and her new family should be prepared to celebrate small steps while allowing her to set the pace.<br/><br/>Savannah does enjoy being outside and would likely thrive with someone who can give her plenty of opportunities to safely explore the world at her own pace. With patient guidance and positive experiences, we hope to see her confidence grow and her personality emerge. She will need someone committed to continuing her socialization rather than expecting her to simply adjust on her own.<br/><br/>Another dog may potentially help Savannah come out of her shell. A confident, well-socialized canine companion could give her someone to follow and learn from, but any dog in the home would need to be carefully introduced to ensure they are a good match.<br/><br/>Savannah may not be the dog who greets you with immediate enthusiasm, but that is exactly what makes earning her trust so meaningful. She needs an experienced person who is willing to invest the time and patience required to help her feel safe.
