Sassy & Shylo's Story
Sassy (F) and Shylo (F), a bonded pair in Chesapeake, Virginia

Sweeter than sweet 9 year old Bichon littermates, Sassy and Shylo, lost their home through absolutely no fault of their own. Deeply bonded, they look out for one another and find comfort, confidence, and companionship in their sisterly connection.

Sassy is outgoing, bold, and always friendly to newcomers. Slightly larger at 15 lbs., she does need a special low fat diet.

Shylo is true to her name — a little shy at first. This 13lb girl soon warms up, and her face absolutely beams when she realizes she’s made a new friend.

Their foster reports that they have plenty of energy, even as adults. We’re looking for a family with a fenced in yard and time for daily walks. Children over ten who are gentle and respectful may be a bonus. After playtime, they’re just as happy to curl up on the couch for snuggles. They sleep comfortably in their crate and settle in when left home alone. They haven’t had much experience with cats but tended to only bark at the resident cat. They don’t enjoy long car rides, so extended road trips wouldn’t suit them.

Both girls have been well cared for. They’re spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm and tick and flea medications, and BFCACT will cover any needed dental care. They have a history of luxating patellas, but they remain active and enjoy their walks. Shylo’s eyes may be slightly cloudy, though it doesn’t seem to affect her. She has been assessed by a vet and there are no concerns. Both are housetrained, though like many Bichons, may need a refresher in a new home. They would prefer a home where someone is around most of the day.

We’re seeking an adoptive family who appreciates the sweet maturity of adult Bichons without the chaos of puppies. With these two darlings, you’ll gain devoted companions who bring a special light into your life.

If you would like to be considered for adoption, please submit our application at:

https://www.bichonrescue.org/adoption-form
