Sassafrass is a very sweet, young dog who loves to be petted (once she knows you). She loves snuggling up in soft, comfy bedding. She likes to sniff around outside. Sassafrass is very scared in the noisy shelter environment. She is looking for a gentle, patient foster or adopter to spring her out of here. She arrived at the shelter with an injury from a previous dog attack. It is healing up nicely! Sassy is about one year old and weighs 45 pounds. *Dog meet required.* If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please contact the shelter directly at 828-649-3190 or email shelter@madisoncountync.gov. Walk-ins are welcome during open hours: Monday-Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am-2pm. The shelter is closed Thursday and Sunday.
