Sasha's Story
Dog Name: Sasha

Breed: mixed breed

Sex: Female

Age: approximately 5 years

Weight: approximately 55 poubds

Medical Needs: Tested positive for Lymes, currently taking a 30 day regimen of Doxycycline to treat.

Housebroken: yes

Crate trained: yes

Good in the car: yes - loves the car, preferably the front passenger seat, but will also sit nicely in the back seat (if she's in the back I use a hammock).

Good on a leash: Yes. Pulls a bit when she see's a rabbit or squirrel. Would benefit from wearing a prong

Energy level: medium. Has her bursts of zoomies and runs around the yard, but then settles and relaxes

Need a fenced in yard: no, but Sasha loves being able to run and play ball in the yard

Dog Friendly: yes, but needs a proper introduction.

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No

Cat Friendly? Unknown, but would probably not be a good idea, as she likes to chase small animals in the yard.

Kid Friendly: yes

If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? I would suggest children that are old enough to understand boundaries. Sasha does well with all children, but due to her size, she would need dog-savvy parents committed to proper, active supervision to ensure safe, happy interactions with everyone.

Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about? Miss Sasha was not treated well before coming to me. She was emaciated, and just days post giving birth with a bad case of mastitis. She has recovered wonderfully, and is very grateful for the love she has received. She is super sweet and loveable, and also very smart, and eager to please. She is not at all possessive with food, but I do supervise when feeding as there are two dogs in my home. If you're looking for a loyal buddy, she could be your girl.

Fosters Location: Harbeson, DE.

Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app
