Meet Sasha, a 2 yr female old German Shepherd mix. She came into rescue from a local rural animal shelter. Sasha can be shy and timid when in a new environment or meeting new people, especially men, but warms up quickly. She loves her walks and walks with a slight pull using a halti collar (a head collar). When she sees other dogs on the walk, she does get excited and may bark and pull. We are working on that behavior and she is improving. Sasha is also working on her basic commands and manners and is making progress. Sasha is being fostered with 2 adult cats and she can be a little pesty and nose them. But she can be easily called away from them and does respect the cats if she is hissed at. With a proper introduction, Sasha could live with another dog that matches her energy and play style. Sasha is potty and crate trained. A family with children over the age of 10 may be more suited for Sasha. She is well behaved in the house and would love a corner of the couch. Continued training and positive interactions in new environments and around new people will need to be part of her daily life so she can be the best dog she can be. If you would like to meet Sasha, fill out an application and we can set up a meet and greet in Madison, AL.
