Sargent's Story

Meet Sarge 🐾
Sarge is a 1-year-old Schnauzer/Schnoodle mix who didn’t have the easiest start in life. He came into the shelter underweight, matted, and neglected, but once he felt safe, his personality came bursting out. He’s gained weight (now about 16 lbs) , loves attention, and is full of happy puppy energy.

Sarge is playful, fast, and always on the move, zooming through the house, jumping on couches, chairs, beds, always alert to what the neighbors are doing and ready for adventure. He’s still learning basic commands and leash manners, so he’ll need a patient, consistent adopter who’s excited to help him learn. He’s very treat-motivated and eager to please.
He’s potty trained, rides well in the car, does well with dogs his size, and thrives on companionship. Sarge doesn’t love being alone and prefers to sleep right next to his person, likely due to some separation anxiety. He’s affectionate, goofy, and always flashing his adorable little teeth.
He can be an escape artist, so secure fencing and careful door management are important. With structure, exercise, and love, Sarge has the potential to grow into an amazing companion.

Best Fit Home 🏡
-Active, patient adopters committed to training
-Secure fenced yard (he’s fast and agile!)
-Someone home often or with other active dogs
-Older children who can handle an energetic puppy
-No cats (he will chase to play, not harm)
-Willing to provide multiple daily walks and exercise

Sarge is ready for a loving home that will give him the patience and stability he’s never had and he’ll return it with endless affection and joy ❤️🐶
