Sarge's Story

Some dogs are happy to share your attention.

Sarge is not one of them.

In Sarge's world, people exist to love Sarge.

Originally from California, Sarge is around 6 years old and has spent 1,009 days waiting for a family of his own.

That's almost 3 years, guys.

When he first arrived at H3, he made it clear that he thought everything belonged to him. With time, structure, neutering, and maturity, he's come a long way, but he still needs clear boundaries and strong leadership.

Sarge has a lot of personality. He's smart, affectionate, a little stubborn, and more than a little sassy.

He's also a medium-energy husky who loves a good game of fetch, which in my opinion makes him a unicorn all by itself. He especially loves tennis balls. He enjoys being brushed (another unicorn trait), prefers stinky meaty treats over crunchy ones, and would happily spend most of his day hanging out with his person no matter what you're doing.

He is the definition of ride or die.

He's not necessarily looking to be an only dog.

Sarge has layers. Like an onion. Or a husky. Mostly a husky.

He can do well with dogs who don't challenge him and with confident dogs that won't put up with his nonsense.

Every husky relationship is different, which is why H3 focuses on matchmaking rather than rigid adoption rules.

However, because of his prey drive, Sarge would not be a good fit for a farm or homestead with small animals.

What Sarge really wants is simple.

A person to call his own.

After all this time, we'd love to see him finally find one.
#supportrescue #adopt #huskyrescue
