Sarah's Story

Hey there, my name is Sarah. I am a petite retriever mix and I came from West VA. It's been a rough journey for me so far. I had a litter of pups and they all got adopted, leaving me sad and lonely. Luckily, I have just landed in a warm foster home and I am settling in. Currently, I am very timid, but sweet. I would probably do best in quiet, low key environment, possibly with another confident dog to keep me company. I am dog friendly, and do well in my crate. Actually, my crate is my safe space right now. FOSTER UPDATE: "Sarah is quite the wallflower at first, but once she warms up you will have plenty of cuddles from your own personal little space invader. At about 35 pounds, she is basically a compact lab, big enough to join you on a walk or run, but small enough to not take up too much space on the sofa. Sarah is an outdoor girl, and is learning to play with our other dogs. She is quite motivated by food and treats, so she is already a quick study on basic commands. Her only accident in the house was just a quick piddle on her first day when another dog startled her (she seems to be housetrained!) We think she would do best in a home with another dog for a buddy, a back yard for romping, and a patient person or family to love and train her."<br/><br/>Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.
