Sapphire's Story

I am a 2 year old female pit bull mix. I was left at a motel all by myself where I had 6 babies. Luckily, I was picked up and we are all safe!

Sapphire came to us a month ago after being abandoned in a motel room with her puppies. Despite that rough start, everything about her says she was loved before; she's gentle, well-mannered, and trusts people easily, after a proper introduction. Whoever had her first clearly tried to do right by her, and we'd like to find her someone who'll do the same.

She is smart and genuinely listens, the kind of dog who watches your face to figure out what you want. She's fully crate trained: she sleeps through the night in her crate without a fuss and settles in happily when her foster family is out. On leash she's a pleasure; no pulling, no drama. And she was a devoted, patient mother to her puppies, which tells you a lot about her temperament.

She's also an unapologetic cuddler. Her favorite place is on the couch pressed up against someone, and if the petting stops before she's ready, she'll nudge your hand with her nose until you get the message.

Sapphire would do best in a home with older kids or teenagers. Excitable little ones are a bit much for her, and she'd be happier somewhere calmer. She's also very interested in cats and wants to play with them more roughly than most cats appreciate; a cat-free home would be simplest, though we think this is well within reach for someone willing to do a little training.

********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********

If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Please do not email and ask for more information on how to adopt, all the information is already available online. The information you see here is all that is currently available about this dog. No boxers are adopted without a completed application and home check. Thank you!
