Saoirse's Story

Saoirse – 10-month-old female German Shepherd (small build)
Saoirse has returned to Texas Pit Crew after an incident with the small dog in her previous adoptive home. Due to this, she cannot live with small dogs or cats and will do best in a home with dogs her size or larger.
This beautiful, smart girl is fully house trained and crate trained. She gets along well with dogs her size or bigger, but needs slow, careful introductions to new people. She has a big, intimidating bark (very typical for her breed!), but she warms up quickly once she feels safe.
At 10 months old and still in her “teenage” phase, Saoirse will need a home with older children or dog-savvy kids only. She thrives in an active household and loves being outside. She is incredibly intelligent, eager to please, and forms strong, loyal bonds with her people very quickly.
Saoirse had major surgery to rebuild her hip after being hit by a car. She is fully vetted and will be spayed once she is fully developed. She takes Dasuquin daily for joint support and will need to continue this supplement for the rest of her life.
Training is especially important for Saoirse right now. She is working through typical young German Shepherd behaviors, and with consistent guidance and structure, she has great potential to become an outstanding, loyal companion. During training, she lets you know when she’s uncomfortable or being pushed too hard, but she recovers easily and is always willing to try again with a new approach.
We require an experienced German Shepherd home that understands the breed and is fully committed to continuing her training.
Her adoption fee of $300 will directly fund 6 one-on-one training sessions with the professional trainer she and her foster have been working with. These sessions are designed to help Saoirse and her new family build a strong bond and create a thriving environment together.
If you’re an active, experienced GSD owner ready to provide the structure, leadership, and love this smart girl needs, Saoirse could be the perfect match for you.

Texas Pit Crew's Adoption Policy
The adoption process: Step 1: Complete the Adoption Application. You can request an adoption application via email. Once complete the form can be emailed back for review. You can always pick a adoption application at any of our events. Step 2: We will review completed applications, do reference and fence checks, as well as a home visit, if needed. Please remember that adopting a pup is making a commitment of 10-15 years, so we do not take any shortcuts in processing applications. It is our responsibility to place these pups in the very best homes we can possibly find for them. Step 3: When your Adoption Application is approved, we will schedule a time for you to meet the pup that just might be the newest member of your family. ***Please remember that we are an all-volunteer, foster based rescue organization. We do not have a public shelter facility, so all meetings for potential adopters and fosters are done by appointment only. *** Step 4: After the mee
