Santana's Story

Meet Santana — a handsome Golden Retriever/Black Lab mix with a heart that belongs to his people. This sweet boy is 3 years old and weighs 44 lbs right now but should be between 58–68 lbs at a healthy weight, and he’s steadily working toward that goal with proper nutrition and care. Santana absolutely loves people. He thrives on human companionship and is happiest when he’s close to his family. Whether it’s relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure, he simply wants to be by your side. He is crate trained, house trained, and quiet in his crate — a wonderful house guest who understands routine and structure. He enjoys walks and does well on leash, making him a great companion for daily strolls around the neighborhood or peaceful outdoor time together. Santana was not socialized with other dogs earlier in life and is not comfortable around them, so he is looking for a dog-free home where he can be your one and only. In the right environment, he truly shines and forms deep, loyal bonds with his people. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will stick by your side and shower you with love, Santana may be the perfect match.

If you are interested in adopting Shubert, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a socially distanced meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ***
