Sandy Cheeks's Story
Meet your new shadow! This sweet 5-year-old (estimated) girl is the definition of a Velcro dog. Her favorite place is wherever her foster mom is, happily following her from room to room just to be close. If you're looking for a loyal companion who simply wants to love and be loved, she may be your perfect match.

She is fully potty trained and has wonderful house manners. Although she enjoys going into her kennel on her own when she's ready for a nap, she doesn't need to be crated when her foster family leaves the house and does just fine relaxing on her own. She's also very respectful in the home and doesn't try to get on the couch, preferring to relax nearby instead.

She has done well with the resident cats so far. She'll usually give them a few curious sniffs before losing interest, unless they decide to run. She did chase a cat once on her first day in foster care, but since then she's been respectful and easily redirected.

She has not been dog tested yet, however we think given her sweet and gentle demeanor she is likely fine with other dogs.

Walks with her are all about stopping to smell the roses. She walks nicely on a leash and only pulls when there's an especially interesting scent she wants to investigate. If you're looking for a jogging or power-walking partner, she's probably not your girlbut if leisurely neighborhood strolls sound like your style, you'll have the perfect companion.

She doesn't know many commands yet, but she's eager to learn and is already working on "sit." While toys don't interest her much, affection certainly does. She'd much rather soak up belly rubs, cuddles, and quality time with her people than spend the day playing.

This sweet girl was found wandering alone in Katy with no microchip and wasn't spayed. Based on her enlarged mammary glands, it's likely she was used for breeding before ending up on her own. Thankfully, those days are behind her, and she's ready to find a family that will love her simply for being herself.

She is now spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, on monthly heartworm prevention, dewormed, and microchipped.

To meet her, please submit an application here- https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HPPL/Dog
