Samuel's Story
Samuel
2 years, 45lbs
Rescued in the Southwest

Meet Samuel (aka Sammy)! This 2-year-old, medium-sized true gentleman is calm, low-energy, and endlessly friendly — he walks straight up to say hi to everyone he meets and treats other dogs no differently than people, showing zero reactivity along the way. When friends and family have come and gone from his foster home, Sammy's made a point of greeting each one right at the door, earning his reputation as an adorable little man with impeccable manners. He's fully potty and crate trained, walks nicely on leash with no pulling, and knows sit, stay, no, let's go, and even responds to "outside?" His days follow an easy rhythm: an early morning bathroom break, breakfast, a proper morning walk about 15 minutes later, plenty of in-and-out backyard time (he loves sunbathing), dinner, an evening walk, and a wind-down that now ends with him snuggled right up against his person at bedtime.

Samuel hasn't found a favorite toy yet, but that hardly matters — what he really loves is staying close to his humans and his canine sibling, faithfully following her around the house. He's been wonderful around other dogs that visit and would make a great fit for an apartment or a house, thriving especially in a calm home environment. His ideal adopter is someone who loves giving affection, snuggle time, and a bit of conversation, since Sammy genuinely lights up when you talk to him. His foster describes him as a true gentleman who looks at you like you're the center of his world — perking up, going silly with a wiggle butt, and smiling so much that strangers have stopped to comment on how happy he is. Step away for even a few minutes, and he'll greet your return like it's the best surprise of his day. Samuel is, without question, a total gem.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Samuel, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
