Sampson's Story

Sampson is a likeable fellow who arrived at our shelter as a stray. He's always happy to greet the staff and get leashed up for his walks. He's comfortable in our lobby, and appears to be more of an indoor dog.

Sampson weighs 66 pounds and is estimated to be 2-3 years old. He's been friendly with the other dogs here and appears to be uninterested in cats when taken into our cat room. For anyone looking for big hugs and a loyal, intelligent friend, Sampson is the man.

Thank you for considering Sampson and supporting our small, rural animal shelter. Adopting save lives! Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
