Meet Sammy, your next adventure buddy or running partner! Sammy is approximately 1 year old and 55 lb. She is likely a mix of Heeler & Labrador. Sammy is spayed & UTD on all vaccinations. She is good with older kids (has lived with an 11- and 15-year-old), but may be too energetic around younger kids. Sammy would prefer a home without cats as she does seem to be pre-driven.<br/><br/>Sammy is super smart and very trainable (knows sit, lay down, spin, touch, shake, look, wait, up, go to your mat, go to bed, and leave it). She even has even spent some time with a personal trainer. She has decent leash skills, but could use some work ignoring other dogs. Her recall is a work in progress (ranges from 100% to 0% when distracted by something fun).<br/><br/>As is common with herding breeds, Sammy has a high drive, plays hard, and seeks mental stimulation. Her ideal owner will be<br/>confident and experienced; someone who is comfortable guiding a very smart, high-energy pup. Sammy needs a lot of daily exercise. A good romp in the morning yields a solid 3-hour midday nap!<br/> Sammy is incredibly social and eager to meet every human and dog. She is learning to listen when other dogs say 'no thanks,' and in return, she prefers when other pups use their inside voices—she isn't a fan of being barked at.<br/><br/>Sammy’s Loves tummy rubs (especially first thing in the morning and last thing before bed—her grins are huge!), draping herself over your lap, raw vegetables, Sniffaris, and treats of every and all kinds. Sammy is crate trained and house trained. She's the ideal dog for an active person or family.
