Sammy's Story

Please visit our website -

www.cockeradoptions.org

There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.

MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: My name is Sammy and I am looking for a home that will be a perfect fit. I came to CSAC as a stray that was saved from a shelter. I have had trauma in my short life as a stray. I was starving, hurt by people, and not doing a great job of taking care of myself. As you can see, although I hide it well, I lost an eye. I needed human help to be safe, healthy, and loved - not hurt! I am happy to sit on the couch and be a lap dog, but also to run around and go for walks with the people that I trust helping me to find my way. I do well with other dogs, but I do not trust men, especially if I feel that I need to protect my human mom. The best fit for me would be a female owner who understands my needs and can help me to feel safe if men come to visit my house. I have made great progress and just need a new guardian angel mom to take me home and give me all the love that I deserve. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
