Sammy's Story

🌟 Meet Sammy — A Resilient Great Dane Looking for Her Forever Home 🌟

About Sammy:
Sammy is a 5-year-old Great Dane who came into foster care extremely underweight and in tough shape. Over the past month, she has made real progress, but she still needs to gain a significant amount more weight. She has also undergone treatment for several medical issues and continues to improve every day.

Personality:
Sammy is incredibly sweet with people. She loves affection, wants to stay close, and truly just wants someone she can bond deeply with. She can also be boisterous and very playful, and with her size, her enthusiasm may not always come across as gently as she intends. She’s full of love and energy and wants to share both with her person.

Other Pets:
Due to her size and reactivity, Sammy must be the only pet in the home. She is leash reactive and easily overstimulated around other animals, so her ideal environment is one where she can relax without sharing space or attention with other pets.

Medical Status:
Sammy is spayed and fully vaccinated. She is currently finishing a round of medications, and we are now opening adoption applications. Meet-and-greets will take place while she completes treatment, and once she receives full medical clearance, she’ll be ready to move into her forever home.

What She Needs:
• A loving person to be her “one and only”
• A calm, stable home where she can safely continue gaining healthy weight
• Someone patient and committed to helping her feel secure, especially on walks

Sammy has come so far, and now she’s ready for the loving, stable home she deserves. 💛

Applications are officially open!
