SAMI's Story
Meet Sami

Sami, formerly known as Shazam, found himself in a shelter at just 3 years old after his owner made the difficult decision to surrender him. While we may never know why, what we do know is that this handsome boy deserves a family who will love him for exactly who he is.

Sami is a shy and incredibly special Chow Chow whose true personality blossoms once he learns to trust you. Give him a little patience, and youll discover a loyal, loving companion who adores attention, gentle pets, leisurely leash walks around his fenced yard, and rolling in the grass. His favorite part of every walk? Watching wildlife! Just be prepared—if he spots a squirrel or another critter, his curiosity may get the best of him and hell pull a bit on the leash.

Sami takes treats gently and has wonderful house manners. He is fully house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside.

Like many dogs who have experienced change, Sami can be fearful of new situations, unfamiliar people, and men wearing ball caps. When hes nervous, he may tremble or shake, but he has never shown aggression—only fear. With patience, kindness, and consistency, he continues to build confidence and trust.

Although hes 3 years old, Sami still has plenty of playful puppy energy and loves exploring the world around him. He has done well with slow, controlled introductions to an older Chow mix and has enjoyed neighborhood walks together. He also handled his first car ride and a bath at Tractor Supply like a champ.

Sami is:
Up to date on vaccinations
Heartworm negative
House-trained
Gentle when taking treats
Looking for a patient, loving home that will allow him to blossom at his own pace

The greatest gift you can give Sami is time. In return, hell reward you with a bond that is incredibly special.

If you think Sami could be the missing piece of your family, please complete an adoption application today:
