Meet Samantha! Samantha is approximately 7-8 months old and is a Beagle mix. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, Samantha's owners fell on some hard times after a family member passed away, so she and her two canine brothers were surrendered so that they could find a new family who could provide them loving care. <br/><br/>Samantha is a shy baby who seems to rely on the confidence of her brother Chino to guide her. She will likely do best in a home with another dog who can do the same for her. She was bred on a farm, and it's possible that her parent dogs were also under-socialized, which can then be passed down to puppies. That being said, she's young and friendly, and should learn quickly in the right setting! <br/><br/>Samantha's ideal family would be patient and loving, understanding that she may be bashful and need extra time to feel safe. It's important not to rush her, and give her plenty of time to decompress and process all of these changes (including the loss of one of her owners, and then the change of environment). It would be helpful to also provide Samantha with a crate/safe space of her own so that she can excuse herself if she needs a break. <br/><br/>Samantha would love an owner who can also include her on walks and sniffy-time adventures outside! She would love to have a doggy playmate and would benefit from continued training for obedience, leash walking, potty training, and positive social interactions. She may always be bashful, so her family should be OK with it if she doesn't want to befriend every stranger she sees. <br/><br/>This lovely little girl is polite, affectionate and has the sweetest disposition!
