This beautiful, one-year-old Canaan dog is currently in Amman, Jordan, patiently waiting for her freedom flight to the United States and a family to call her own.<br/><br/>Salma had a tough start fending for herself on the streets, but her sweet nature saved her. She bravely approached a kind woman who was feeding neighborhood cats. Recognizing Salma was in danger from her harsh environment, this rescuer immediately scooped her up and brought her to safety.<br/><br/>Today, Salma is incredibly smart and very loyal. She can be a little shy in new situations and needs a moment to build trust, but she is making amazing strides every day! She is a quick learner who is doing wonderfully practicing her leash walking with her foster mom. Like many dogs transitioning to a home for the first time, she just needs a bit of patience as she settles into a new routine—but she catches on so fast.<br/><br/>Salma gets along well with other dogs with a proper introduction, and would love a confident canine sibling to help show her the ropes. She hasn't officially met cats or children yet, but her gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion.<br/>Salma is about a year old, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.<br/><br/>Will you be the one to open your heart to Salma?
