Sally's Story

Sally

Meet Sally – a gentle senior soul looking for her soft landing.

Sally is an estimated 12-year-old purebred Cocker Spaniel who has survived a lifetime no dog should ever know. She came to rescue after being surrendered with more than 20 other dogs when a backyard breeder was shut down. Neglect, overbreeding, and heartbreak were all Sally ever knew — until now.

When Sally first arrived, veterinary exams revealed SHE IS COMPLETELY BLIND and her initial bloodwork raised concerns that she might be a hospice case. Thankfully, recent bloodwork has shown improvement, giving us hope and time to find her the loving home she deserves. Sally will be undergoing eye enucleation surgery (covered by the rescue) to relieve discomfort from her eyes.

Sally wears diapers, not because she’s incontinent, but because she needs frequent potty breaks and her blindness sometimes causes confusion about whether she’s inside or outside. She doesn’t mind her diaper at all and handles it like a champ.

Despite everything she’s been through, Sally is incredibly sweet, gentle, and easygoing. She gets along with all dogs, kids, and cats!

Sally will thrive in a home with someone who understands senior dogs, has patience, and is willing to accommodate a blind pup. The biggest asks? Please don’t rearrange furniture, give her time to learn her new space (which she does surprisingly quickly!), and offer her consistency and grace.

Sally doesn’t need perfection — she needs peace. A quiet home. A warm bed. A human who will love her exactly as she is.
