Salem's Story

Salem was living in an apartment with someone who decided they couldn’t keep a puppy anymore. And instead of finding him a safe place to go, the plan was to take him somewhere and just let him loose.

Yep. Just let a puppy loose to fend for himself.

Thankfully, someone heard about what was going to happen and stepped in before Salem ever had to experience that.

Salem is a happy, playful little guy who is doing wonderfully in his southern foster home!

He absolutely loves other dogs and has been having a blast playing and running around the backyard with his southern dog foster brother. He enjoys playing with toys and is also great at entertaining himself!

This sweet boy is already off to a great start with his manners. He sleeps through the night in his crate, has had no accidents in his crate, and has been practicing his leash walking. His foster mom says he’s such a quiet little guy that she can hardly remember hearing him bark!

603 Canine Rescue's Adoption Policy
603 Canine Rescue is committed to thoughtful, individualized adoptions rather than first-come, first-served placements. Prospective adopters complete a detailed application, provide personal and veterinary references (when applicable), and participate in an interview to help us understand their lifestyle, experience, and what they are looking for in a companion. We review each application to determine the best match based on the dog's needs, personality, and the adopter's home environment. Approved adopters must agree to provide appropriate veterinary care, keep the dog as an indoor family companion, comply with all applicable local laws, and return the dog to 603 Canine Rescue if they are ever unable to keep it. Our goal is to create safe, lasting placements that are in the best interest of both the dog and the adopting family.
