SAINT's Story

No Longer Vander — he is NOW (and always was, we just didn’t know it) Saint. He is truly still the sweetest boy, and here’s the story behind his name change. Saint’s time with us began when his finder discovered him as a stray. Unfortunately, he and the finder’s dog did not get along, and a fight broke out. Saint lost a small piece of his ear, but he hasn’t allowed that moment to shape how he feels about other dogs. During an offsite medical visit for X rays, he was nothing but friendly, happy, and social — even with multiple dogs waiting in the lobby. His ear was treated by our medical team and is healing very well, with no additional injuries noted. New information came to light when his previous owner visited the shelter. She shared that Saint had escaped her car a couple of weeks ago while she was on her way to the shelter to inquire about surrendering him. His true name is Saint, though she also affectionately called him Bubba Man. While she was unable to reclaim him, she generously provided helpful information to support his chances of finding a forever home. Here is what she shared: • Saint is 5 years old • He lived with children ages 2–10 and did wonderfully • He has been around cats and did very well We still recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children before adoption to ensure a great match. At the shelter, he has been easy to leash and easy to walk, even if he pulls with enthusiasm. He also met a neutered male dog and allowed plenty of sniffing with nonstop tail wags and happy bouncing. He truly is adorable. Come meet Saint in person to see if he might be the next beloved member of your family. All of our adoptable dogs and puppies are: • Spayed/neutered • Microchipped • Up to date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives Adopters should establish veterinary care after adoption to maintain ongoing wellness. The 3 3 3 Rule is always helpful to remember: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to settle in 3 months to build trust Adoption Fee: $80 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville Mon–Fri 12–5 pm | Sat 11 am–2 pm Saint / A317250 5 years old Neutered male 62.30 lbs Please come meet Saint and see whether he’s the right fit for your family. #adoptfromicas #myicasrescue
