Sage's Story
Sage is a confident, outgoing puppy who was found abandoned with his litter in Borger, Texas. He is currently fostered in the Amarillo, Texas area. He is estimated to be about six months old, born around July 25, 2025, and weighs approximately 40 pounds. He appears to be a large breed mix, possibly Labrador Retriever, Shar Pei, Mastiff, or bully-type mix.

Sage likes to be the leader of the group and has a more assertive personality compared to his siblings. He loves kids and his toys and has a moderate to high energy level. Due to his size and confidence, a home with older children would be the best fit. He does well with other dogs but has not been exposed to cats. Sage is very trainable with treats and does not bark much.

Sage will need a committed home ready to continue his training. He requires house training, crate training, leash manners, and guidance with general household rules. He has started leash training and has had some crate exposure, but he will need consistency and structure to thrive. He is not suitable as an outdoor-only dog.

Sage is available through a foster-to-adopt program. Approved adopters will foster him while beginning basic training and routine building. Thanks to a generous donor, the adoption fee is waived, and adopters will receive $250 after the first week and an additional $250 after the second week to help with training and care expenses. A rescue team member will check in weekly during this process.

Adoption application (copy and paste into your browser)
https://airtable.com/appklteyg5w2e0fmu/shrY8RxQc1KxQYCuv
