SAGE's Story

Say "Hello" to Sage - The Queen of Hearts

SAGE is a gorgeous black-and-white pocket pit with an adorable little heart right on her adorable little head-and enough love to leave a paw print right on your soul. Some dogs are rescued. Some dogs rescue you right back.

Sage is 3 years old and was rescued from a backyard breeder. Her story could have ended very differently. When she was rescued, she was critically ill after an improper C-section caused a raging infection, and she was also heartworm positive. But Sage fought her way through it all. She is now heartworm-free, recovered from her hysterectomy, and ready for the life she should have had all along.

And somewhere along the way, Sage decided that being a pocket pit was simply not the life for her. After recovering with her foster's Bostons and Frenchies, she became convinced she belongs in the little-dog club. She may weigh 50 pounds, but those little legs keep her only a few inches off the ground! Her chest is as wide as larger pit, but she isn't any taller than a Frenchton!

She's a comical girl whose funny little expressions, antics, and larger-than-life personality make it hard not to smile around her. This big-hearted, low-riding girl loves the little things. She loves curling up in a chair, romping and playing with her Boston and Frenchie friends, and sleeping in bed with her people. She simply loves being part of the family!

And here's something else to love about Sage: she has been around both large and small dogs, male and female, and gets along with them all. She enjoys playtime, doesn't have food aggression, doesn't bark excessively, and doesn't chew things she shouldn't-unless it's one of her beloved aggressive-chewer-approved toys. Her experience with cats is currently unknown.

Sage's dream home is one where love is plentiful and life is a little slower-ideally with people who have plenty of time to spend with her, a fenced yard where she can play with her humans or canine friends, and, of course, plenty of good nutritious food.

Look closely. That little heart isn't just a marking. It's a reminder of everything Sage has survived-and everything she still has to give. So we're asking someone to do something very simple:

Give Sage your heart-and she'll spend the rest of her life warming yours. Sage is ready to be someone's Queen of Hearts.

Click here to FOSTER: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/ABTR/Dog
