Sage's Story

SAGE IS SCHEDULED FOR HER SPAY ON JUNE 24, 2026, WHEN SHE IS 16 WEEKS OLD. SHE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OUTSIDE A 30 MINUTE RADIUS OF DES MOINES DUE TO HER VETTING NEEDS.

Sage is a 13-week-old (born in rescue February 27), female, mixed breed puppy that weighs about 15 lbs. Sage is outgoing and so very friendly! This girl is spunky and eager to learn new things. She has been in training for the past month and is doing amazing with her basic commands. Sage is kennel trained and well on her way to being house trained. Sage is living with two large dogs in her foster home and learning how to give space and respect to the adult dogs. Sage has experience with walking on a leash and is doing pretty well. She loves to carry a stick or her leash in her mouth when she walks. She has met cats and did well with the boundaries the cat set. With slow introductions and guidance she should do well living with cats in her forever home. She has met kids but does not currently live with kids. She is an energetic puppy that will do well with kids if given guidance and boundaries for play. Her momma weighs 33 lbs. and we don't know who daddy is. She will be medium to large size full grown.

Mother: Marty

Siblings: Dill (M) Basil (M) Cilantro (M) Thyme (M) Oregano (M) Rosemary (F) Sage (F) and Fennel (F)

If you are interested in meeting Sage, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application

Adoption fee is $300.00 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
