Sage's Story

Miss Sage has been let down too many times in her short life. She was originally adopted from Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter when she was quite young, and we found out that she was frequently picked up as a stray since then. The last time it happened, she was found in Painesville running on a busy street. It turns out that she was found as a stray in Euclid & picked up by her owners from the Euclid shelter earlier that day, then immediately dumped one city away. The finder reached out and offered to foster her through our rescue. She does well with other pups, as long as the other pup tolerates her puppy energy. She is working on manners, and has come a long way. She absolutely loves her humans! She is also house trained.

Kane's Mission - Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
The potential adopter would fill out an application. We would contact them, and have an initial phone interview. The next steps are to set up the home inspection, and perform reference checks, as well as reach out to their veterinarian to make sure that their current or previous animals were all kept up on vaccinations, monthly flea/heartworm meds, and that they were well cared for, medically. After the home inspection, we would set up a meet and greet with them. Sometimes more than one meeting is necessary, especially if they have other animals. Once approved, they would fill out and sign the adoption contract, and pay the adoption fee, and we would then deliver the animal to them.
