Sage's Story

Meet Sage: A Clever and Curious Pup Looking for a Forever Home!

At just 6 months old and 30lbs, Sage is a shepherd/cattle dog mix who has already had quite a journey. Sage and her two brothers were found abandoned in the desert, where a rescuer worked to safely capture them and bring them to safety. Dog Coalition LA partnered with the rescuer to place the puppies in foster homes, giving Sage the chance to grow up in a safe and loving environment.

In foster care, Sage is showing what a clever, thoughtful, and curious puppy she is. She loves dogs and is playful and social with her canine friends, including small dogs. Sage can be shy when meeting new people because of her difficult start, but she is curious and interested in getting to know them. Once she feels safe, her goofy side starts to come out! She is crate trained, doing well with house training, and has been making great progress with leash walking around the neighborhood.

Sage would likely thrive in a home with a confident dog who can help her continue building her confidence. She is affectionate and playful with her canine friends and seems happy to make friends with just about any dog who will have her. With a little patience as she gets comfortable with new people, Sage could be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a smart, playful pup who is ready to keep learning and growing.

What You Should Know About Sage:

- clever 6-month-old, 30lb girl looking for a forever family who will give her time to feel comfortable and let her personality shine

- expected to be around 45lbs fully grown

- curious, thoughtful, and playful, with a special love for dogs and a goofy side that comes out once she feels safe

- might be a great match for someone looking for a fun, dog social puppy and who has a confident resident dog to help her continue gaining confidence

To meet Sage, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow @dogcoaltionla for updates!
