Sage's Story

Meet Sage! Sage is a smart, friendly and very affectionate 2 year-old heeler/shepherd mix who dreams of being adopted before the holidays! She was a volunteer favorite at the shelter in Southern California, so we had to step in and save this sweet soul. Sage is so bright, walks well on a leash, is crate-trained and house-trained. She is great with kids and friendly with strangers. She's respectful of the house and not destructive when left alone-she's a young lady after all! Sage is one of the most loving dogs we have met and just wants to be by her humans, whether it be for a stroll, a car ride, or snuggling on the couch. Sage would do best as the only dog as she resource-guards her food, but if you are willing to work with her, we think she can overcome this behavior once she's shown love and placed in a permanent home. Please give Sage the Christmas she has always hoped for, and she promises to bring you much joy!
