Sage's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sage! This young lady is ready for her forever home! This beautiful mini schnauzer is sweet, loves affection, and is walking great on a leash. She is housebroken and crate-trained. Sage is 2 years old and weighs 16.8 pounds. She is also spayed and UTD on her vaccinations.

In fact, she loves her crate so much that when she gets frightened, she hides in there, and that's a habit we've been working through as we help build her confidence here in her foster home. After only a few days she's willingly spending less time in her crate, and becoming more comfortable with normal household hustle and bustle, including two other dogs.

A lot of noise and activity scares her and she has been snippy in the past to kids out of fear, so a house with maybe somewhat older kids who know how to respect a dog's boundaries would be ideal. Once she trusts you, all she wants is pets! However, she's not super dependent on her people and doesn't show any separation anxiety - she doesn't make a peep overnight while sleeping in her crate, and is perfectly happy on her own while her people are at work. She's also great in the car.

Sage gets along great with her foster's two calm dogs, and has even started playing with the smaller one. Sage would be a great fit for all kinds of households that are a bit on the calm side, and will help her to build even more confidence and not want to hide from the world!Adoption fee to offf set vet expenses: $300
