Sadie Mae's Story
What can we say about Miss Sadie Mae?! She has the most soulful brown eyes and such a beautiful, gentle spirit.

Dear Sadie is a lovely, 5-year-old bluetick coon hound who weighs about 80 pounds. Her floppy ears are silky smooth, and she has the beautiful bay of a Motown crooner.

Sadie came to Waldo’s Muttley Crew after she was dumped as a stray near a horse farm. There she stayed for months and months – loving the horses, but not the hands of her would-be helpers.

Through her years at the Waldo’s, she has become the queen mother of the dog dorm, keeping the peace with her size and wisdom.

Through gentle persuasion, she has learned that humans CAN be trusted, and she is especially cooperative for her favorite motivator: T-R-E-A-T-S! Over the past year, Sadie has learned to put on a harness for treats, and she has even been for a few walks in the woods with her buddy Ogden. She would really benefit from getting out for a walk every day.

Recently Sadie had a tooth abscess that required round the clock care. During her stay with one of our volunteer families, she proved to be an amazing house guest with great manners and a natural instinct for house training. She spent time around two cats, and while she was curious, she was not aggressive.

While visiting, Sadie discovered the joys of the C-O-U-C-H! Do you have a couch that needs a dog? This sweetheart will take a little time to open up, but once she knows you can be trusted, she’ll reward your patience with unconditional love.
