Sadie's Story

💛Say hello to sweet Sadie! She's just over a year old and fully grown at 55 pounds which makes her a great medium sized pup. She has a sweet, loving personality and is smart, eager to please, and easy to love!

Sadie is living with a great Foster family on Long Island and loves to play in the backyard with her foster doggie siblings. She’s friendly with everyone she meets and would be happiest tagging along on adventures, hikes, errands, or simply curling up at home with her favorite peeps.

You can see in her pics just how beautiful she is and with her big, soulful eyes and gentle expression, she has a way of making you feel like you’re already her person.

We think Sadie would thrive with an active family who has a fully fenced in backyard so she can play to her heart's content. She'd also love a doggie sibling. She is healthy, housebroken, crate trained, and has all the qualities that make a dog an absolute joy to have.

Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com or call 516-459-3509) to get lots more info on Sadie and make plans to go meet her at her and fall in love!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
