SADIE's Story

Sadie's Pups and Pjs Sleepover: We wish we could express how good this dog is, but we don't think there's any perfect words, so we’ll just have to try. She is the easiest, calmest and sweetest dog that we’ve ever encountered. And [husband] drives for FedEx. So [husband] runs into a lot of dogs. She has been stable and calm and collected around dogs, males, females, children. We personally [husband and wife] got all up in her face, pet her all around, gave her hugs (which she loved) and it did not phase her at all.?We inserted pictures of all encounters that we could and she is also stable around wildlife ?She got so close to a squirrel, the squirrel wasn't bothered. She wasn't either. It was a very fun time. She drank water out of her bowl bottle and the park fountains with ease. She didn't pull on the leash. She did gnaw on the leash and got right through though, she is quite the chewer. ?She is very food motivated, treat motivated. She is toy motivated. We wanted so bad to let her off the leash, but we knew it wasn't allowed, but we think she'd be a great fetcher.? We do believe that she'd be able to be a great walking companion. She stayed with us on the leash as we walked and as she ran. ?She does love tearing things up. But we think that’s just her breed, because she found sticks she wanted to chew on and she has toys that she could rip up easily. A very thick coat, she needs constant water, a lot of shade outside. She is a champ in the car, so very calm, lays down. She did need help getting in at some points in the car but we think it’s because she may not be used to it - however it showed us she has not problem being picked up. She is very pack oriented, is the word we want to use. She will get excited if we do but otherwise very tame temperament. She is solely looking at you and what you're doing and responding accordingly. If you sit down, she's going to sit down. If you are being active, she's going to be active. She does know the sit command. She's getting used to being called for. Honestly, a 9.5 out of 10 dog, we think she was definitely a pet, the only one thing is the fact that she chewed up her leash. But even then, we don't think that's her fault. She just needs a lot of good chew toys and a better leash. Sadie's adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from a community member
