Sadie's Story

Meet Sadie! Searching for a dog with the perfect mix of playful, silly energy and affection? Look no further than this affectionate lady!

Sadie was rescued with her siblings after being found abandoned in a rural farm field, alone and undernourished. Despite having a heartbreaking beginning to her story, Sadie's golden heart won over her foster immediately. At first sight, Sadie army crawled directly into her foster's arms to just be held and cuddled. Her foster quips: What has Sadie taught me? Never say never! I walked in to foster an older dog (closer to my dog's age) and I walked out with 8 month old Sadie! Her cuddling won me over - she just wants to be loved!

Sadie is a "57 flavors" mix - likely a combo of hound, boxer and pitbull. Her body favors the hound side as well as her nose to the ground and retrieving abilities. At approximately 8 months old (DOB 2/2026), Sadie weighs about 40lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations (Bordetella, DHLPP, Rabies), 4DX test and treated for fleas/parasites.

Sadie loves toys whether she is chewing them, throwing them into the air to herself or, her favorite, fetch! She is fast and bouncy in everything she does and just as quickly hops onto the couch to cuddle and fall fast asleep.

Sadie is crate trained, house broken and loves a good neighborhood walk! She will sleep soundly in her crate all night. She is definitely still a puppy - impulsive, curious and can be at times a little hesitant while outside on walks. Noises will distract her and grab her attention. Sadie is still learning to be confident and secure in new environments. Sadie is highly motivated by food and would make a great candidate for training and learning new tricks. She is comfortable with handling, shows no aggression and is responsive to positive reinforcement and redirection.

Sadie loves people and, on the rare occasions that she does barks, it is to show her excitement in greeting a new person. Sadie has not been observed around children and, because of her energy and excitement, would be challenging to have around very young children. A home with older, school-aged children or an adult only placement would likely be best.

Sadie enjoys having another dog around, and is currently living with an 8 year old pitbull mix. Sadie loves to play and be chased - but her foster pal quickly tires of her puppy energy and antics. She does not show reactivity towards other, new dogs she meets on walks and would likely enjoy having a dog companion in her new home. Sadie also likely would be fine too as an only pet, if given the attention she craves and outlets for energy. Sadie has not been observed around cats. Proper introductions with any resident animals, new situations and new people are always a must. We ask all family members to be present at meet and greets.

Sadie's foster describes her as a WONDERFUL dog that needs some continued training and direction during her puppy years, but if you love cuddles, snuggling and kisses, then this buttery soft dog could be your next best friend! She is a sweetie and 100% puppy in energy and silliness! She deserves a wonderful home!

All dogs are up-to-date on age/weight appropriate vaccines, exams, monthly preventatives, heartworm tested (negative), flea treated, dewormed, spayed/neutered and microchipped. If not completed at the time of adoption, any remaining initial vetting will be covered by the rescue.

Apply to adopt!
