Sadie's Story

Meet Sadie – A True Survivor with a Heart of Gold
Note from foster mom: Sadie is an amazing dog. She is just a love. She does prefer the male dogs. She will eat right along the side of them. She needs a loving family. I adore her. We did find out with the first rain that princess tender feet does not like mud. She found the empty dog pool and decided that would be a great place to potty. She then ran very quickly back inside.

Sadie’s journey has been anything but ordinary. She was adopted from us as a puppy by a veteran living with PTSD and began training to become a service dog. Unfortunately, the training didn’t continue, and life took some difficult turns.

Recently, we received a call from a local shelter—thanks to our microchipping policy, they knew to contact us. We learned that Sadie’s owner had fallen on hard times and was living in his car in Colorado. Though he deeply loved Sadie, he knew that life on the road was no place for her. He tried to do the right thing by leaving her with his sister, but she was later surrendered to a shelter.

Her original owner has since reached out to Veterans Affairs in Colorado for help, and while it's heartbreaking, he trusts us to find Sadie the loving forever home she deserves.

Sadie is truly a sweetheart. She’s got that adorable hound dog bark and a big personality—she definitely knows what she wants and isn’t shy about letting you know when it’s time for water or a potty break! She gets along well with most dogs, but like any good boss lady, she prefers not to share the throne with other strong-willed females. As they say, too many chiefs in the kitchen!

She adores hugs and will gladly soak up all the affection you can offer. Sadie is looking for a calm, stable home where she can feel safe, secure, and cherished.

Could you be the one to give her the second chance she so deserves?

We require an application. If the application is approved then we have the potential owner send us a quick video of their yard, fences and introduction to themselves. If all looks good we drive the dog on a Saturday to the prospective home for a meet and greet and in person home check. If all looks good they sign a contract, get a goody bag and the dog. We then take a picture for future reference in case we get a call to return a dog.
