Don't let her adorable pouty mug fool you - Sable is a cheerful sweetheart who is known for being a nonstop wiggle butt. She is always just happy to be out and about and spending time with friends!<br/><br/>Lovable Sable is quite people-oriented and enjoys soaking up attention in the form of pets and, hopefully, lots of treats. Just a little sweet talk, and her whole back half starts wagging like crazy. <br/><br/>Sable also enjoys stretching her legs on long walks or with some play time. She loves to smell and explore and makes an eager hiking buddy. She also has a blast emptying out the toy bins. With other dogs, she was social in play group, and she has been polite/quiet passing other dogs on walks. <br/><br/>Miss Sable has some basics down already. She tends to keep her kennel tidy so we believe she is housebroken, and she knows how to sit (sometimes she's a little wiggly and forgets to hold still for long). She is enthusiastic about her treats and can be strong on leash sometimes, but is good about settling into a nice pace when reminded. You must schedule a meet with a dog in advance - we are not currently accepting walk-ins. Please look online first to see if there are any dogs you think would be a good fit for your home before scheduling a meet. To get the process started, visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog and fill out the form. One of our adoption counselors will get in touch to schedule and confirm your meet! At the kennel, an adoption counselor will introduce you and your family to the adoptable dogs, share information we know about them, and discuss our suggested ways for successfully integrating a new dog into your home. You are welcome to meet multiple dogs. If the dog you adopt is already fixed, he or she may leave with you that day - otherwise, the dog can go home after receiving the spay or neuter surgery.)<br/><br/>About Our Dogs: All available dogs have gone through a behavioral and medical assessment. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. We cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog once they are in the home. Most of our dogs are picked up as strays, so we do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if most of them are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. We do have some dogs in foster homes, where they will have more information about how the dog is in a home environment. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption.<br/><br/>Heath/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within two weeks of leaving the kennel. All dogs receive their DAPPL, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccines, though you may be required to get follow up boosters. All dogs come microchipped and with a Cuyahoga County license.
