Sable's Story

FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED!
Sable is everything people love about Labradors—friendly, affectionate, goofy (check out his video below), and always ready for the next adventure. At 64 pounds and almost 2 years old, he loves exploring new places, playing fetch, sniffing everything along the way, and soaking up every belly rub and ear scratch he can get. He greets the people he loves with his whole body, and once he's by your side, that's exactly where he wants to stay.

Sable already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more, especially when treats are involved. He's made wonderful progress with his leash manners, enjoys training, and has been building confidence every day. Whether he's learning new cues or tackling new experiences, Sable is eager to learn and thrives with patient guidance, consistency, and encouragement. Like any young dog, Sable is still learning that new experiences aren't so scary—and he surprises his walkers every week with how much progress he makes.

After spending far too long in boarding, Sable is more than ready for a home of his own. During overnight stays with volunteers, he quickly settles into home life, trading kennel stress for couch cuddles, quiet companionship, and loyal devotion to his people. He's ready for a family who will give him the exercise, routine, and love he's been waiting for—and in return, he'll be the kind of companion who makes every day a little brighter.

If you're looking for a playful adventure buddy, a devoted snuggle partner, and a dog who will love you with his whole heart, Sable is ready to meet you.

PAW adopts in the MD, northern VA, DC, and southern PA region.
