Sabine's Story

3 year old female Chiweenie, about 9 pounds. Sabine is a sweet, snuggly girl. Sabine was rescued from a dog-hoarding situation and she does very well with other dogs and cats, but can be timid toward humans and is very afraid of men. However, she immediately becomes very attached to her female foster humans, and is a very loyal little velcro dog. She is a great walking buddy; she loves to trot at a surprisingly fast clip and displays no leash aggression at all to other dogs. She enjoys toys and can entertain herself or play light fetch if you're willing! Sabine would prefer a fenced yard, as she keeps to herself sniffing around and conducting business without trouble - definitely not a runner once she attaches to you. She prefers to be with you but it also comfortable sleeping in a dog bed nearby, and will gladly join you on the couch! Sabine does not show separation anxiety and does fine left at home alone. She likes to be let out fairly frequently but otherwise does well with housetraining. Sabine would be the perfect fit for a calm home with a single woman or female-only household, especially if you work remotely or are retired. She is timid toward female visitors but warms up relatively quickly. To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com.
