Meet Ryobi! Ryobi is a Shiba Inu who is estimated to be about 3 years old. <br/><br/>Ryobi was found as a stray and was never claimed, so unfortunately his past is completely unknown and we've been learning about him a little bit more every day. Ryobi quickly became a staff & volunteer favorite with his gentle and patient demeanor. He's very friendly and easy-going! <br/><br/>Because Ryobi's past is unknown, we're not sure what kind of potty schedule he may have had before. He keeps his kennel clean at the shelter, so we think he'll do well adjusting in a new home as long as his owners are patient and consistent. He has met and played with other dogs at the shelter and done well! He's happy to play and chase, and will simply exit and do his own thing when he's done playing. We're not sure if he's ever met cats before. <br/><br/>Ryobi should do well with children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. He will be great for someone who wants a dog they can walk or hike with every day, but not necessarily a dog who needs to go running! Shiba Inus are famous for being loyal but independent. They often have hunting instincts, so containment outside is important. Shibas often have a confident personality and can be aloof, often compared to cats in that sense. <br/><br/>Ryobi already seems to know some basic commands and takes treats incredibly gently.
