Ryker's Story
Ryker is only 2 years old, and the shelter is breaking his heart. This sweet Heeler mix came to us as an owner surrender due to circumstances beyond his control. His previous owner faced health and living challenges and Ryker spent his entire life in an environment with just one person. He wasn't given the opportunity to properly socialize, explore the world or learn the structure that working breeds like Heelers truly need to thrive. Now, Ryker is here... and the shelter environment is taking a toll on him. The noise. The confinement. The constant change. This isn't where his story is going to end. Ryker has made incredible progress with our volunteers. He has learned to trust, to open his heart, and to show the loving dog he truly is. Once he feels safe, he becomes the sweetest companion, offering gentle kisses, enjoying quiet snuggles, and happily playing tug-of-war with his favorite toy. He already knows how to sit and takes treat politely, showing just how eager he is to learn and please. Ryker isn't a "bad" dog. He's a good dog who never had the structure, guidance, and stability he deserved. He needs a home with an experienced Heeler owner who understands his breed, his energy, and his need for consistency or an owner who is willing to learn. Someone who will give him the chance to finally feel secure, confident, and loved. Please don't let Ryker wait any longer. he deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a home. And he needs it now.
