Ryder is a fun guy who recently did amazing on a field trip outside of the shelter! He is reported to have done well with dogs, kids, and cats in the past. Do You Believe in Magic? - The Lovin' Spoonful Ryder sat like a gentleman during a recent update video with our director: @vcanimalservices Director’s Message 1/22 from VCAS Director Esteban Rodriguez and long stay dog Ryder. 91 pets left the shelter via adoption, reunion, or rescue last week. 99 stray animals arrived, and our dog kennels are full! Please ensure your pets have proper ID to help keep them out of the shelter. VCAS is offering first come, first served free microchips from 9AM-12PM on Saturday, 1/24 at Del Sol Park in Oxnard. Large dog foster and adopters are always needed as well. Many of you have asked how you can help. We have created a downloadable, printable flyer featuring our long stay dogs and their adventures with staff/volunteers. We encourage you to print and post this flyer on your own social media and at local businesses! You can find the flyer at vcas.us/LongStayChallenge. It will be updated monthly.
