RV's Story

Meet RV ๐Ÿ’›
Hi everyone! My name is RV, and I am a happy, friendly, and active boy who is the absolute definition of a gentle giant! I have a wonderfully versatile personality, perfectly balancing my playful energy with my inner couch potato. To me, the concept of "personal space" simply does not existโ€”I am a full-body cuddler who wants to be touching you whenever possible! I am deeply loving towards my people, always wanting to be petted or close by. In fact, I will give you a sweet little nudge with my head just to say hello and remind you that it is time for my scratches. I am a very clever boy who listens wonderfully to commands like sit, off, go, and down, and I am completely, 100% house trained!

I thrive on a quiet, structured day that kicks off with an early morning walk and a delicious breakfast. While my people are off at work, I happily hang out in my crate with a yummy frozen Kong toy to keep me occupied. I am making fantastic progress with my crate training; while I can occasionally be a little bit vocal during the day to let you know I miss you, I settle down quickly. I am learning more every day that my people always come back to shower me with love at the end of the day, and I have no problem happily settling right into my crate when bedtime rolls around! Because I love people so much, I am always ecstatic to head out for an afternoon walk and sniff session, eating three delicious meals a day before wrapping up my evening with a final stroll and plenty of living room snuggles.

I am currently the only dog in my foster home, and honestly, I don't mind getting all the attention and love completely to myself! When we are out on walks, I am very curious and excited to meet other dogs as they pass by. I am wonderfully non-reactive unless another dog barks at me first, at which point I will politely bark right back just to say a cheerful "hello!" to them. I have met children before and do well, but because I am a big boy who is still working on perfecting my enthusiastic manners, I would do best in a forever home with older kids aged ten and up. Because I have a very strong curiosity toward small animals and squirrels, a feline-free home would be the absolute best fit for me.

Even though I love my quiet downtime and am perfectly suitable for apartment or condo living, I am still an active boy at heart who needs a securely fenced-in yard to stretch my legs. I would absolutely love an active family that will play tug-of-war with me, take me out for runs, and let me tag along on all of their daily adventures. Most importantly, I am looking for someone understanding, who will give me time to feel secure and help me understand that I never have to face the world alone again. In return, I promise to give you an infinite supply of love, loyalty, and the best full-body hugs you could ever ask for. ๐Ÿ’›

It Takes A Village Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Hopeful adopters must fill out an adoption application. All applications are screened and potential matches are contacted. Follow up questions are emailed. A phone call is set up to clarify any questions about the adoption process. At that point the fosters are provided the contact information for the potential adopters. They set up a meet and greet at the fosters home. During the meet the foster will tell the potential adopter the good, the bad. and the ugly about the dog... we want total transparency in order to have an open and successful adoption. After the meet we ask the fosters and the adopters their thoughts. If the adopter would like to proceed, their references are checked and a virtual home visit is conducted. If the adoptable dog has any sort of behavioural or medical issues a plan to address the issue would be required before adoption could proceed. If all is good then the adoption contract is sent out to be signed and returned along with the adoption fee. The foster is given the green light to arrange pick up.
