He was heartbreakingly found abandoned in a hotel room by his previous owner, left alone for days with no food or water. After being discovered, animal control picked him up before getting the opportunity to travel to Wisconsin for a fresh start.

Despite everything he has been through, Rusty is incredibly sweet and friendly. He enjoys being around people and has a gentle, loving personality. Rusty has tested friendly with dogs and kids, making him a great fit for many family environments. He has not yet been tested with cats.

Rusty has likely lived in a home before and may already be potty trained, though that isn’t guaranteed. He walks well on a leash and seems eager to please. As he settles into a new routine, he may need some refreshers with crate training and home life, but he has a great foundation.

At around 45 pounds, Rusty is a wonderful medium size and would love a home where he can go for walks, continue learning, and finally feel safe and loved.

Rusty has already endured so much, but he remains a resilient, loving dog who is ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a family of his own.

Rusty at a glance

Age: Approx. 1–2 years
Gender: Male
Weight: 45 lbs
Breed: Australian Shepherd mix
Spayed/Neutered: Not yet
Potty Trained: Likely, but unsure
Crate Trained: Unsure
Leash Manners: Good
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Not tested
Good with Kids: Yes

Rusty has made the journey to Wisconsin and is ready to find the loving home he deserves.

If you are interested in adopting Rusty, please apply today:
www.muttlife.org

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up-to-date dewormer, vaccinations, heartworm prevention (age appropriate), and certified veterinarian inspection within 30 days of adoption.
__________

Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply!

https://www.muttlife.org/adoption-policies
_________

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.)
